Clonezilla Software Raid 0
I have a HP Server DL320 G5. There are two SATA hard disks configured as RAID 1 through HP embedded RAID controller. Server OS is running GNU/Linux (Fedora)Server booted up with clonezilla live CD. The image will be stored on a NAS connected through NFS.Clonezilla could mount the NFS share and could see the two hard disks /dev/sda and /dev/sdb.I selected /dev/sda for disk cloning.
However I could not see the cloning progress and got straight into a prompt for reboot, poweroff, command lineI tried to select /dev/sdb but the same issue.
If you're using software RAID to setup a RAID1 (mirrored) array you should, in theory, be able to image one of the drives. To restore, create a new blank RAID1. As soon as it's built take a drive offline. Restore the image to the online drive, bring the offline disk back online and the RAID rebuilds the mirror.The Citrix admin at a previous job used to add new Citrix servers by grabbing one of the OS drives from the RAID1 mirror of one of the existing servers and swapping it with one of the blanks from the new server.

Both RAIDs rebuilt and there was a new server. Probably not the best way to image servers, but there was sufficient redundancy in the Citrix app servers to cope with some down servers.
I used Norton Ghost bootable from a TekkieToolz utility.Windows 2008Easy Steps, Don't Mess with Any SettingsClone Raid Drives to Regular SATA.Disconnect Old DrivesConnect New Drives and Recreate a New Raid 1 Mirror ConfigurationWARNING: Recreating new raid1 on new drives will lose old raid1 configuration.Once you have your new Raid 1 restart and Boot Norton Ghost again.Clone from SATA to your new Raid Drives which will detect as one. Once done restart.Insert Windows Server Disk and Go to Repair This PC Type:Bootrec /rebuildbcd and Bootrec /fixbootNorton Ghost will also auto resize the drive.Restart and Done.
