Gem TDThis game is a survivor TD where you need to either win, or in some cases simply stay alive the longest. It has a high learning curve, and the first few matches can be difficult for new players – however it becomes a lot of fun once you have the hang of things. This game requires 1-8 people. At the beginning of the match, the host can choose for everyone to either race each other (race-mode), or to simply play at the same pace. New players should play in race-mode, because you can take as much time as you need each turn. How to play:If you are new to this tower defence, the best way to learn is to try a solo game first at a medium difficulty and in “race” mode. That way you have unlimited time between each round to explore all the buildings and to discover what types of gems are available (and what they all do!).In this game you build 5 gems before each round.
One of these you will be turning into a tower, while the others will be turned into mazing stones. You simply decide where to place them, and a random gem will be put in each location. In race mode, you may take all the time you need, but in the other mode you must be quick in placing them, because if you forget to build all 5 each round, or if you weren’t quick enough, you will lose out on those gems. Once you place your 5 gems, you can choose the ONE gem you want to keep as a tower. Creeps are released each round which will always try to follow the same path. Therefore it’s best to build mazes. In the middle of the map, you will find “recipes” which will show you what gems combine into others. During the game you can also upgrade the quality of your gems which is highly recommended.
You usually won’t have time to read all the possible combinations listed by selecting the buildings in a regular (non-solo) game, but a quick read of the options available via the “gold mine” is something you should definitely do. Extra lives, or upgrades to gem chance are both available. This game is fairly difficult at first, and to do well in the higher difficulty levels you will need to really plan ahead when it comes to your tower placements, while keeping an eye on tower and chance upgrades.
As long as you enjoy the challenge of micromanaging those aspects and the complexity it brings, Gem TD has a layer of randomness and chance which makes things different every game, and it can really be a blast!Much of the game is learn-as-you-go. Knowing the gem qualities before hand can help though, and they are as follows:. Chipped (worst).
Flawed. Normal. Flawless.
Perfect (best)You typically get Chipped gems at the start of the game. As you upgrade your gem quality, you have higher chances of getting the better gems.
Remember that if you get certain gem combinations, you can sometimes combine to make an even better gem!330kbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”. There are many game options available, but in a typical game, each player is able to select their own difficulty which will determine the gold they start with, the number of creeps, and the strength of the creeps. Waves of creeps come at regular intervals.Players start out with a simple builder that can build 2 basic tower types. After 5 turns, each player receives 1 lumber which can be spent on an “elemental” ability. Every 5 turns after that, each player receives another piece of lumber which can be used either to buy another elemental ability, or to upgrade one of their current abilities. One of the interesting aspects of the game is “interest” which is extra gold received every 15 seconds based on how much unspent gold you have.
You can even upgrade the interest rate by spending lumber. There are quite a few options and available configurations. The host can either choose all the options, or allow the players to vote on all the options. Some options include the difficulty, a hero mode that can be selected at the beginning of the game which will allow elemental heros to be used in the game, a race-mode where the last person to clear their creeps loses a life, or a random-same mode where the computer will spend all player’s lumber on the same things.
Setting the same difficulty, race-mode, and random-same can make for a very even competition between players!Aside from ugly hard-on-the-eyes pink boxes in the map, the game can be pretty fun. It’s options make it a flexible map – if you’re playing for the first time or aren’t very good, you can set yourself to an easy mode and play alone or with others. If you and your friends are looking for a game to compete against each other with, by changing a few options, you can have a pretty fun match as well.1.9mbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”. There are a total of 60 levels and each player has 10 lives.
It requires 2-4 players. The game is fun, and fairly popular. If you’re hoping to beat it, you must ensure that the other players are good as well, as the game ends when the others are eliminated and only 1 player is left.Basically, each player has a different corner of the map in which to build.
Waves of creeps follow a mazed path, and must be eliminated by your towers before they reach the end. Various towers can be built and upgraded. Gameplay is simple, and this one is easy to learn.143kbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”. Liquid TD 2.9Liquid Tower Defense is a game for 2-9 players (you can try playing it with only 1 player, but I sure didn’t get far on my own). Everyone is on the same team, and the goal is to survive all 32 waves of creeps. There are 20 lives total, which means 20 leaks and the game is over. There are 4 races available, each with different strengths. It’s important to begin building right away, as towers take some time to build.
You get gold at a basic rate, as well as gold for killing creeps. The final player (grey) gets extra gold since they’re the one at the end and in a large game (9 players), they may not see much action. However, their position is important, since all creeps that don’t die will travel to their area last before leaking.Spawns travel from the top left and bottom left towards the right side where they start to meet up towards the middle and travel back again towards the left. It sounds complicated, but it’s really quite simple. This version does not have lottery towers. If you’re looking for that version, head to the “Reign of Chaos” map section on this site.Liquid tower defence is a pretty fun map, and certainly worth a try with friends. It’s not extremely difficult to beat, but is rather fun and can still present a challenge.727kbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”. There are up to 4 “teams”, so in smaller games, it’s possible to either pair up or go solo. Each team has 25 lives. Upon the start of the game, each player picks a certain builder race, and begins to make towers in their area. Each wave of creeps has 2 checkpoints to hit before reaching their goal, so with careful and strategic building, you can maze around these checkpoints to reduce the chances of any leaks. After most waves, there is a mini-game of sorts (similar to Skibi TD).
Doing well in these mini-games can award you gold, as well as extra lives. To win, your team must survive all 30 waves. All in all, Ryoko TD is a well designed tower defense. It contains mini-games, allows a variety of tower types, and the fun factor is pretty high. Highly Recommended.730kbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”. At the beginning, you vote for the level of difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Hard).
You then choose from 12 different builders, who can each build towers with their own strengths and weaknesses. From the loading page:Choose one of 12 governors, each having a different set of available elements. Select from a total of over 80 towers, many with unique abilities, to prevent 40 levels of monsters from reaching the center. Purchase a Hero to catch leaks and use special abilities. Teamwork is necessary if you expect to win!In this TD, you can send money to other players, who can build towers in your base and then concede (give) them to you. Skibi’s Castle TDA great TD whose development was taken over by Blizzard, and an official version was made available on Blizzard’s website as a bonus map.Unfortunately, it’s hard to get any idea of what the map is like from the picture. Basically, you can have 1 or 2 teams of up to 5 players each. Each player can select a race (each having it’s own strengths and weaknesses). Possibly the best part of Skibi is that there is a MINI-GAME after each wave of creeps where you can obtain extra gold. The mini-games vary, and they all have different objectives. If you’ve ever played Mario Party, the concept is somewhat similar. All in all, a great game that’s much more than just a simple TD, is fun, and definitely worth a try.1.6mbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”. It’s a still a popular game, as it’s pretty well designed and can be difficult to master. It supports 1-10 players. In Zoator, you basically choose a race, and build towers. Winning is dependant on everyone doing their part to kill as many creeps as possible to prevent leaks. You can select a hero for a separate portion of the game that is typically played between waves where you work together to kill creeps for gold.A classic game, very popular in its day, and still widely played today.132kbTo save, right-click on the above link, and choose “Save As”.
